Below is our recent interview with Anna Hu, Co-Founder & CEO at Zoolife:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Ever wonder what gorillas do when no one’s looking? Zoolife is the world’s first interactive virtual zoo. An empathy-led community that lets anyone connect with, delight in, and protect the world’s wildlife.
We value being a force for good. 50% of every dollar goes to wildlife care and conservation efforts led by our partners. Together, we are building a future where we share a deeper connection to wildlife every day.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We have been working closely with the Toronto Zoo as a development partner to solve the problem of access to wildlife for their 1-2 million customers annually. By expanding this access to a deeper connection with wildlife, Toronto Zoo is now reaching a wider global audience and getting more people engaged in protecting animals.
Through our partnership, we also validated that our offering brings additional revenue to Toronto Zoo, which continues to grow each month. Zoolife.tv users tell us they are more incentivized to go to their local zoo, and our partner’s members are buying annual subscriptions to support their zoo.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Streaming live 24/7 from the world’s top accredited zoos, sanctuaries, and rehabilitation centers, each stream is designed to bring you closer to wildlife and offers innovative ways of learning, protecting and engaging with the animals, from the comfort of one’s home.
Zoolife.tv’s state-of-the-art technology allows users to control the camera from their device, zoom into a tiger’s whiskers, or move the camera around to explore a gorilla’s habitat. In addition, Zoolife.tv features a growing collection of remarkable animal species, daily keeper talks, and interactive Q&As with animal experts for in-depth learning and so much more.
At Zoolife.tv we are strong believers in supporting conservation of wildlife and protecting animals. Accordingly, 50% of all passes directly fund animal care and conservation efforts led by our partners.
Anyone who signs up to zoolife gets unlimited access, with all product features, to one animal habitat. This access allows the new user to control the camera, watch the talks, take pictures or clips of the animal, and more…
To access all 22+ available animals from our partners around the world, a user can purchase a day pass, a monthly subscription, or an annual subscription. Zoolife.tv also has a class pass, designed for teachers to provide their students with the ability to control the camera and engage with the zookeeper talks during a virtual visit to the zoo.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Our ambition is to be the #1 online destination to connect with, delight in, and protect the world’s wildlife. While we will continue to bring on more partners and add new animals on Zoolife.tv (koalas coming soon!), we are also focused on adding value to our wide breadth of user personas.
We have validated that Zoolife.tv is a great product for teachers to teach about animals and wildlife, for wildlife enthusiasts to observe animal behaviors in a unique and innovative way, for senior homes to engage their residents, and for every animal lover to relax and unwind while watching in the background.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: One fact that I like to tell is that we have numerous users with limited accessibility to wildlife, due to physical or financial limitations, who reach out to us to express deep gratitude for how Zoolife.tv empowered them to connect with nature and communities that they could not access before.
I must say it feels great to be working on a product that can provide a life changing experience for some of our users. We are very driven by passion to, both, support wildlife AND our users.
