Below is our recent interview with Annette Kaitinis, the Co-Founder & CEO at Scoot Boot:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Scoot Boot is a small innovative company that was established in 2015 and is based in Tasmania, Australia.
Our multi-award winning product is a specially crafted hoof boot for horses which we supply to customers and stockists in 85 countries.
We’ve gone from being a start-up in a country shed, to a recognised world leader in hoof boot technology in a short space of time.
We stand for the welfare of horses and encourage owners to let their horses go barefoot and use removable hoof boots when they are riding on difficult terrain and are in rehab because of hoof pathologies.
We want owners to move away from traditional metal shoes and use a product that supports hoof health, offers protection and importantly, comfort for the animal.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We are just about to launch a new product range, the Scoot Enduro hoof boots, which will now have larger sizes 4 and 5.
This is the result of listening to our customers and rigorous field testing of our product.
The Scoot Enduros are designed for horses and mules that are difficult to fit.
We amended our regular product to bring in an adjustable strap at the back and higher heel support.
We are also soon to launch our own Scoot Boot Application. We’re very excited about the development and look forward to sharing more about this as we are closer to launch.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: We offer humane hoof boots for all equine breeds great and small, all over the world. Our hoof boots are lightweight, durable, adjustable and allow drainage which is important for good hoof health.
Traction too is significantly better than metal shoes and our competitor equivalents.
They are easy to use, simply slipping onto the hoof of the animal with adjustable front straps.
What many equine owners don’t realise is it’s actually far more cost effective to keep your animals in hoof boots and give regular trims than it is to use metal shoes that are nailed into the hoof.
Our customers include elite equestrian professionals, serious trail riders, horsemanship companies, breeders and stables, all the way through to weekend riders, pony clubs and hobbyists.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We have some exciting new distribution plans that will be announced soon and some large scale partnerships that we are working on.
We’re also looking to expand into new markets this year and grow our business, specifically in the US.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: We are obsessed with the welfare of horses, and in fact all animals.
Our employees are all passionate animal lovers and owners which helps us understand and engage with our customers on a very personable level.
We have a DEO (Dog Executive Officer) named Zeppy who is an 80kg great dane who regularly frequents the office and attends Board meetings.
We are also very high tech in the way we do things.
All of our systems and data are well organised and we have automated a lot of our work processes.
Like many small companies we are very agile systems-wise which helps us stay close to customers, go to market faster and be hyper-targeted in our approach.
