Below is our recent interview with NFT photo artist Joey Franco:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your studio?
A: The studio offers content creation, from corporate to editorial and fine art photography. Creativity is at the core of it all.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: I’ve just released my first non fungible token photography series on OpenSea, the world’s leading NFT platform. The photographic series is entitled The Hollywood Fob series and it was born from my passion for films and television.
I’ve created and photographed 70 key/motel fob combinations that reference iconic film and tv places. It’s very eclectic, you’ll find classic cinema, Marvel movies, sitcoms, animated films… just about everything for everyone. I really wanted anyone to look at the series and find at least one image that related to them.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: For those who are not familiar with NFTs, which are non fungible tokens, in a nutshell, a digital version of an asset, in this case a photograph is created on the Ethereum blockchain. In the case of my series, the photographs are unique, therefore there is only one version of the image. In some cases the artist might choose to create several versions, or editions of the image or artwork. I wanted to ensure that each image is unique, and a collectible which will hold its value over time. A collector can purchase one of my images for one Ethereum. Once they purchase the unique file, the transaction will be recorded on a digital ledger. The collector will hold this file in their crypto wallet, and if they choose, they may eventually sell this item to another collector. The process is fully transparent, and we can see every transaction made and who owns the file- that’s the beauty of the crypto art world – everything is out in the open and the artist has full control of the sales process.
Also, because the Ethereum blockchain is a “smart” contract, the artist may choose to include a perpetual fee for future sales. For example, every time the artwork is resold, the artist will receive a set percentage from the sale. This is something that does not exist in the traditional art world.
Q: What can we expect from you in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: I am currently working on my second series which is set to be minted to the blockchain in December and will be released for sale in the spring of 2023. I’m also looking to incorporate cause into every project I release. It’s great to sell art, make a living and continue to fuel future projects, but somewhere along the line I believe there must be a higher cause to art and creativity.
I’m looking to partner up with organizations where proceeds from my NFT sales will go directly to those causes.

Q: What is the best thing about your Studio that people might not know about?
A: With regards to the NFT portion of my work, and this is something that will be launched in the coming months – collectors who prefer to dabble in physical assets will soon be able to purchase physical fine art prints of the digital work. The NFT will remain the original form of the work, sort of like an image negative… and the print will be an extension into the physical world.
I feel that many NFT photographers took a reverse path in transforming existing work into NFTs for the metaverse. I had the initial impulse of doing the same, but I felt I needed to push myself creatively to come up with something original that was made to be presented as an NFT. I also wanted the NFTs to be fun and lighthearted because I feel the crypto art world is a fun and whimsical space. I think the fobs fit into this world quite nicely.
