Q: Can you provide a brief overview of your company?
A: PC® Insurance, as part of Loblaw Companies Limited, is a one-stop shop for all your home and auto insurance needs. Our services are underwritten by a number of selected Canadian insurers making it easier for Canadians to find the right coverage based on their needs, at competitive rates, all in one place.
Earlier this year, PC Insurance introduced an upgraded digital experience, allowing eligible customers to purchase insurance online. This feature empowers our customers to choose their shopping channel of choice when it comes to buying insurance. PC Optimum members also gain access to exclusive discounts, all while being provided the opportunity to earn, two times the regular PC Optimum points when they pay their premiums with their PC Mastercard.
Q: What is your core competence?
A: As a broker, PC Insurance compares quotes from a variety of trusted insurance providers to help Canadians find coverage that fits their needs and budget. With our upgraded digital experience, eligible customers can also purchase insurance online, in just a few clicks.
Our expert brokers and 24/7 claims support are also available to guide customers throughout the process. Whether they want to talk over the phone or purchase online, PC Insurance provides a service that can best suit their needs.
Q: What advantage does your company have over its competitors?
A: At PC Insurance, we compare quotes from a number of Canadian insurance providers so our customers are able to shop the market quickly and conveniently. We also provide our customers with convenient methods to shop for insurance, based on their individual preferences – whether that be by phone or online.
Unlike any other provider, PC Insurance offers PC Optimum members exclusive discounts as a benefit of their loyalty membership. And that’s not all that makes us different. We want to reward our customers with points too! We are the only insurance broker that allows customers to earn PC Optimum points when they use their PC Financial Mastercard to pay their insurance premiums.
Q: Is there anything more you would like to add or highlight?
A: Consumer purchasing habits and needs are evolving, and at PC Insurance, we aim to deliver the best value and convenience to our customers. Earlier this year, we introduced an upgraded digital experience, allowing customers to purchase insurance online, with just a few simple clicks. We recognized the need to make purchasing insurance simple and rewarding for Canadians. Life is busy and we always want to make sure our offerings continue to adapt based on customer needs and preferences.
We recently conducted a survey to get a better understanding of what Canadians think about buying insurance. Based on that survey, we found:
- Nearly half of Canadians (45%) find the process of purchasing home and auto insurance outdated and time-consuming.
- Two thirds of Canadians (68%) say cost is the top priority when purchasing insurance.
- One third (34%) say their least favourite part of purchasing insurance is how much time it takes to find the right coverage
- Seventy per cent of Canadians believe the insurance buying process is time consuming.
