While Paal found himself in the United States, Tomas and Morten continued to reside in Norway, remaining in their familiar surroundings. Despite being physically separated on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, the trio saw this as an opportunity to rekindle their shared childhood love for music, which had been nurtured over three decades.
They decided to channel their passion into Popkanon, a production company that serves as a bridge connecting musicians from diverse backgrounds. Through Popkanon LLC, they aimed to bring together singers and musicians from different parts of the world to collaborate on projects. It became their platform for delivering music to the public, fostering a global connection in the process. With enhanced technology, the boundaries of music production and sharing had become virtually limitless.
In a fascinating parallel, on February 18, 2003, the indie pop group “The Postal Service” released their album “Give Up,” earning their name from their unique method of communication. The band members utilized the United States Postal Service to exchange DATs files between Los Angeles and Seattle, enabling them to write their songs. This method, despite being geographically distant, led to the release of a highly successful album.
Fast-forwarding to present, the trio from Norway found inspiration in this same strategy but with the advantage of even better technology at their disposal.
