Below is our recent interview with Kati Kleber, Chief Executive Officer at FreshRN:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: FreshRN is a nursing education company I founded that includes blogs, books, a podcast, email newsletter, and social media accounts that is designed specifically to support newly licensed nurses as they transition from full time student to full time nurse. We provide practical, concise, honest, and encouraging information to help bridge the gap between the textbook and real world.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: Celebrating 10 years blogging and creating content for new nurses has been a milestone I never dreamed I would achieve. This platform went from an anonymous Tumblr account in 2013 to a full education company with 400+ blog posts, 10 courses, 35K email subscribers, speaking events around the country, and partnerships with major companies. I’ve had such touching feedback from nurses all across the globe. I had one nurse from Australia tell me that she was able to catch early signs of impending neurological decline so she could call the family to make it to their loved one’s bedside before they passed away because of what she learned in my course… new nurses who were considering leaving the profession all together before taking my master class, and another able to catch a serious neuro change in time to alert the neurosurgeon and send a patient to send them to emergent surgery – who miraculously survived and was discharged! It’s also rewarding to hear from international nurses who are very unfamiliar with American customs and healthcare norms use my resources to acclimate themselves faster.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: To celebrate 10 years of supporting nurses, we wanted to have a sale and offer 30% off all FreshRN courses. Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Over the next 6 months, we will be updating all of the courses with new videos and other enhancements. We’ll continue to release podcast episodes and blog posts as well!

What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: My company started out as an anonymous blog. I was scared to put my name to it back in 2013 because there were very few nurses publicly online and we were concerned about violating policy and getting fired. But, I ended up writing my first edition and really wanted my name to be on the cover because I had worked so hard on it and really stood by everything I wrote. I didn’t want to hide behind anonymity and loved being able to support and encourage new nurses during a really vulnerable time.
