Below is our recent interview with Georgios Grigoriadis, CEO at Baresquare:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Baresquare?
A: Thank you for this opportunity to discuss Baresquare.
Our platform represents a new paradigm in analytics, where human operators and manual dashboard analyses are no longer necessary to identify impactful business events and their causes. Baresquare uses advanced technology to provide everyday users with insights, helping them understand how to influence their business objectives in profound ways. For instance, Baresquare identifies revenue drops, understands they come from promotions of out-of-stock items, and suggests alternative merchandise solutions.
We like to think of it as a bit of magic in a data-driven world.
Q: Who is your ideal client and why?
A: Right now we cater to e-commerce professionals responsible for revenue, particularly in Merchandising and Sales. These individuals grapple with complex analyses before they can coordinate actions across various teams. They are the backbone of their organizations, providing direction and initiating important strategies. Our focus is on these professionals because they are the ones who most urgently need and can benefit from our assistance. The brands that best benefit from our technology are those that prioritize innovation as a competitive edge and are actively seeking to enhance their teams’ outcomes with AI.
Q: Can you tell us something more about your platform?
A: The Baresquare platform is a dream realized after two rigorous apprenticeships. Our founding team honed its expertise in marketing analytics, learning to collect accurate data to drive action across the ΜarΤech stack. After that, we gained the skills to build end-to-end automation solutions for prominent companies like Sony and Condé Nast.
Then, we didn’t go gently with our product vision. Once, our dream of generating natural language to replace dashboards was laughed at – dismissed like a child’s naïve scribblings destined for the fridge door. But now, having been recognized twice as an AI and Analytics leader by Forrester Research, public awareness of how AI solutions can impact our societies, and a captivating UI, the industry views our product with respect and seriousness. No one laughs at our vision anymore.
Q: What can we expect from Baresquare in the next 6 months?
A: In the coming six months, Baresquare is not racing against time. In a market that quickly announces unreliable AI solutions, we’ve chosen a path less traveled, focusing on perfecting the next generation of our product through an Early Access Program with leading e-commerce brands. Our approach is not about rapid expansion but about crafting a solution so powerful and intuitive that it becomes indispensable. When we launch this next version of our platform in a few months, it will not just be a product release; it will be the unveiling of a new era in analytics.
Q: What is the best thing about Baresquare that people might not know about?
A: The essence of Baresquare often goes unnoticed: we are the underdog.
Our team’s background isn’t lined with startup fame or Ivy League diplomas. But we’ve all worked hard to complete our degrees, getting good marks, and quietly working in our industry. For the past few years, we’ve had our heads buried in our computers, working on our platform instead of talking more about it.
We like to think that we’re a contrast to the usual tech startup ethos. We bring a unique perspective, blending data science with abstract logic; it’s something about the cultural element of our Greek origin and the educational system there. The average tenure of our team members is twice the industry benchmark.
The first $2M invested in the platform was earned to the last cent with hard work as data consultants and was taken out from the salaries, bonuses, and dividends while Greece was going through an unprecedented financial crisis and insecurity. We put it all in.
This journey isn’t about financial gain or building resumes; it’s about creating a transformative technology. It’s our life’s work and true calling.
