Q: The demand for virtual learning has exploded over the last 2 years with the pandemic, what do you think has changed when it comes to virtual learning technologies before and after the pandemic?
A: The internet and education have combined to offer people the opportunity to learn new skills online, the pandemic caused the growth of this industry to skyrocket, making online learning centric in people’s lives. The pandemic reshaped education delivery and post pandemic will be adapting and evolving to make sure students get the most out of their education. What was considered an alternative path during the pandemic has now shifted to an opportunity to reach more students and meet their diverse needs and further customize education delivery.
Q: What distinguishes TOD from its competitors and why do you think parents should use your platform?
A: At Tutors On Demand, we focus on customizing learning plans and offering academic mentorship. We have open communication regarding reporting and goal setting, with students and parents. Our tutors go through an extensive vetting process to ensure students are receiving the best education support.
Q: Do you think virtual learning is here to stay? Or is this just a temporary situation that will subside once the pandemic is completely over?
A: The use of multiple delivery modes is here to stay as well as the changes to learning outcomes and measurement of achievement. Educators have realized benefits of customization for students. Online education enables the teacher and the student to set their own learning pace, and there is the added flexibility of setting a schedule that fits everyone’s agenda, allowing for better balance. It is also flexible for each student’s individual requirements and level of ability.
Q: Will your platform help different generations? Or are you currently focusing on millennials and Gen Zs?
A: Our primary focus is millennials and Gen Z. Gen Z is a digital generation and as such need digital learning tools integrated with the education. We have created a platform that facilitates interactive learning, has low barrier to access, and puts the student in control with a learner- centric environment. Millennials have also grown up surrounded by technology and enjoy the flexibility that online learning provides, as well as the immersive personalized approach the virtual learning offers. Our aim is providing an affordable, interactive, quality education support tool that is available when and where students need it.
Q: What is Tutor on Demand’s future plans and what are the biggest challenges that your platform is currently facing?
A: Tutors On demand plans to increase subject offering, and interest-based areas of study as well as exploring tutoring in the metaverse. With the growth expected in the metaverse, we wanted to provide early metaverse adopters an opportunity to learn English in our decentraland based ESL center.
