Below is our recent interview Ope Adeoye, The Founder at OnePipe:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: OnePipe is a company that maximizes APIs to drive financial inclusion and digital financial services penetration. We started out in November 2018 with a team of 5 but the team we are now 23 in number.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement or any recent launches, partnerships, funding, etc?
A: Late last year we closed a pre-seed round to the tune of $950k, and in recent months we concluded a robust pilot that has resulted in us successfully embedding financial services within existing products offered in the Agriculture, FMCG, Manufacturing and Retail sectors. Two of these are the Kudi and Releaf partnerships. Other partnerships can be found here
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: We help organisations embed financial services like accounts, improved payments and credit within their products.
Although we started out in 2018 as a platform that provides fintechs access to robust, secure and standardized APIs from incumbents viz. Banks, financial service providers etc. thereby significantly reducing time (before launch) lost by fintechs to endless negotiations and complex integrations.
However, the robustness and resilience of the OnePipe API gateway has birthed (and is still birthing) diverse value offerings that are enjoying widespread adoption across various industries.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Sequel to successfully piloting embedded finance in various sectors, we have found a number of wedges in the market and we will be doubling down on these proven use-cases in a bid to scale these opportunities while creating value for our numerous stakeholders (customers, partners, investors etc.)
All these efforts will be guided by our “true north” , the grand idea that the world needs a new type of financial services ecosystem. One where everyone has a role to play, and everyone has some value to capture. And while there’s a need for some gatekeepers, their influence needs to be minimal.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: We the people because we epitomize the values on which OnePipe is built: Tenacity, Resourcefulness, Results, Innovation & Intentionality.
We love to be called “The Plumbers of OnePipe”
