Below is our recent interview with Roger Smith, President at All Sports Television Network:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: The All Sports Television Network is a national sports network created for American broadcast television. ALL SPORTS features sports and sports-related programming that covers non-traditional and traditional sporting events throughout the world. Our goal is to provide broadcast television stations the ability to offer their viewers sports-related content without them having to pay for cable or satellite services. ALL SPORTS provides a wide variety of sports-related, High Definition (HD) content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: ALL SPORTS has decided to take the lead in bringing e-Sports to broadcast television. We are producing one of the first e-Motorsports programs for television. Racing Unleashed is a 60-minute reality television series featuring individuals competing against each other on the e-Motorsports gaming platform by the same name. The series consists of 13 episodes featuring twelve contestants competing against each other on Formula-1 style simulated racers.
People wanting to be contestants on the series do not have to have simulator or video game experience. They will be selected based on attributes that include balance, focus, reaction time, sports fitness and personality. Contestants will be divided into three teams. Over the 13-week period, contestants will race against each other and will be eliminated until three are remaining. The final three contestants will compete against each other to determine the first, second and third place winners. Each will receive a cash prize based on their final ranking.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: In our quest to find new and exciting programming that we could air on our network, we began looking for e-Sports programming. A racing series that we normally air happened to feature a segment on a state-of-the-art racing simulator that was created in Switzerland. The product had not yet reached America commercially.
We entered into an agreement to broadcast the Racing Unleashed European racing competitions that were being held in their racing lounges. However, we wanted be more aggressive when introducing the concept to the American public. That is when we decided to create a reality show centered around the Racing Unleashed simulators. We were very impressed by the technology and the realism of the experience and believed that the public would agree. That is when we decided that ALL SPORTS’ first original production would be the Racing Unleased e-Sports reality series.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We will be going into production of the series mid to late June. It should be released shortly thereafter. In the meantime, we are considering other potential e-Sports series to introduce.
In addition to the Racing Unleashed series being on the All Sports Television Network, we are planning to syndicate the series. Our goal is to have it reach 70 million television households, as well as select OTT channels. Additionally, we are in discussions with a major sports programming distribution company that wants to offer the series to foreign markets.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: I believe that the best thing that people might not know about the All Sports Television Network is: first, our commitment to delivering to the American public, high quality programming and sporting events that they have never seen; and second, our desire to providing a distribution outlet to non-traditional sports organizations worldwide.
