Below is our recent interview with Jennifer Farrelly, Founder at Cheeterz Club Inc:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Cheeterz Club isn’t just a name, it’s a definition. In fact, the word ‘cheaters’ is a common word that is used when referring to readers, and we’re totally here for it! We like to think of ourselves as a destination for anyone who refuses to succumb to their age and wants to feel sexy and stylish when reaching for their reading glasses. Put more simply, we’re the next best thing to Botox and fillers.
Cheeterz Club offers a unique line of fresh styles that use top-of-the-line materials, at surprisingly affordable price points. All of our frames are handcrafted using 100% acetate and spring hinges for all-day wear. We fit them with CR39 lenses for the best visual quality with 100% UVA/UVB protection. Want more? Our lenses are also oleophobic and hydrophobic, which is a fancy way of saying: you can still enjoy perfect vision after you finish a greasy cheeseburger, in the rain!
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: Designed by a leading eyewear expert from Warby Parker, the company launches with its new line of 42 fashionable styles. Designed in-house and handcrafted with plant-based materials. The frames are made with 100% acetate, using spring hinges for a comfortable fit and metal frames made with medical-grade stainless steel. Each frame has a unique branded emblem imprinted on the temple tip. Our lenses have an abbe value of 58.
(Abbe value — a measure of the degree at which light is dispersed or separated — between 30 and 58. The higher number offers better optical performance. Crown glass can have an Abbe value as high as 59, but polycarbonate readers would have an Abbe value of 30.)
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Starting at $28.99, the company helps anyone cheat on their age and feel fabulous doing it. Our customers can design their own pair of eyewear and customize it with a variety of lens types and fashionable tint options. Choose among sunglass readers; blue light glasses for eye fatigue and dryness; fashion tints with eight colors that span the rainbow; and progressives, a split lense with no power distance vision on top and reading power on the bottom.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months?
A: What are your plans? While Cheeterz Club today is selling direct to the consumer, the company is talking to eye doctors, boutiques and others who may eventually resell for them, as more of a B2B model. It’s also testing selling on Amazon with one pair of Blue Light glasses.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: As a forty-year old and a first-time founder, I am the first to understand what people my age want. We already spend our disposable income trying to look and feel youthful, so why should that stop with reading glasses? I founded Cheeterz Club to finally change the perspective of readers, and have a little fun doing it.”
