Below is our recent interview with Vladimir Polo, Founder & CEO at AcademyOcean:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: AcademyOcean is a Ukraine-based SaaS company, which provides a smart LMS for employees, clients, and partners’ training.
The idea of creating AcademyOcean came up while I was building another tech startup. I wanted to show potential users the value of our product, as well as to explain how to use it. So we created an online portal with short courses for our users, and called it Academy.
Later, our clients increasingly began to ask how we made our academy, and I realized that this would be my new startup. There were dozens of LMS on the market at that time, so I decided to create something absolutely distinctive, and unique.
AcademyOcean is already used in 25 countries around the world. We have a globally distributed team and partners` network to provide qualified support to all our customers.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We recently announced AcademyOcean’s entry into the UK market. We consulted with the best Learning and Development professionals around the world to create LMS 2.0 that will revolutionize learning.

A: Our team developed “Dynamic content”, a unique technology with no alternatives in the industry.
AcademyOcean has been working on personalizing and humanizing the experience for learners. This is the key distinction we make from other e-learning solutions on the market.
AcademyOcean platform analyzes learning data (for instance, how learners respond to tests and surveys) and helps tailor learning to the individual’s needs.
Every learner will receive personalized types of content that will help him have more fun and learn better.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: For some time now, AcademyOcean has actively consulted with the best L&D specialists and psychologists in order to integrate the scientific approach into the platform. The goal is to combine knowledge about the psychological characteristics of people (speed of perception, memory properties, etc.) with the functionality for personalization.
So a very cool new technology is just around the corner!

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: Here I could talk about our unique features, rewards, and ratings. But I already mentioned some of them earlier, so here I decided to share 3 interesting facts about AcademyOcean.
- AcademyOcean was created in 2017 in Ukraine, in the beautiful port city of Odesa. The symbol of our company is a lighthouse — as well as an Academy, it shows the correct and safest path. We have a collection of small lighthouses in our office, paying tribute to our story.
- For several years AcademyOcean team has been regularly consulting with L&D specialists from companies such as Intel, Deloitte, Cisco, Nokia, and with HR influencer Dave Ulrich, which allowed us to create a world-class platform in Ukraine!
- One of the most unusual use cases for AcademyOcean is the training of retirees. It can be said that AcademyOcean LMS passed the test for ease of use by retires. BTW, thanks to this case, we developed our unique dynamic content technology.
